The Editor
The Editor by Charlotte Hemans | Tuesday 21st February | 7pm | QMU
Cassandra, a talented epistilographer, spends the majority of her life piecing together historical letters in the depths of the National Library archives, writing up and publishing their hidden stories. When a pile of letters dated to 1939 and belonging to a renown female WW2 journalist are placed on her desk, Cassie believes she has hit the historical motherload. Commissioned by Elizabeth Bowen's family to write a biography on her life, Cassie sets out to write an inspiring journey of hardship and struggle. However, she soon discovers Elizabeth's life to not be as inspiring as expected. One forged secret quickly becomes multiple, and Cassie is faced with a choice: confess the truth, or rewrite the past? In this spiralling game of lies, Cassandra plays The Editor, and the truth is her victim.
