Each year the University of Glasgow’s foremost theatre society invites Glasgow audiences and a panel of judges from the professional arts scene to come and see four new works from four brilliant new talents based in Glasgow. Out of the shows one is selected to represent STaG at the Edinburgh Fringe. The Festival is a key launch-pad for new student playwrights and directors.

A Nonsense World
Directed and Written by Alice Blundell
follows a 23 year old girl who still has an imaginary friend (a puppet!) and lives in her own nonsense world. The play is narrated by her useless parents and she meets weekly with her creepy counselor, Colin.
‘45 and a Half Miles’
Directed by Simon Gwynn, Written by Edward Neville
200 years ago, the French Emperor Napoleon conquered Britain and kept her as a province. Despite resistance, a large segment of ‘Southern Britain’, remains to this day under the control of Versailles. Young Henry Wright grew up in this society and is about to feel the visceral pain caused when a terrorist resistance and an oppressive government clash.
