Girls Like That
29th February & 1st March 2016 | Stereo | Directed by Eszter Jokay and Fiona Hollow
"The problem with girls like that is they ruin it for everyone. The problem with girls like that is they give all girls a bad name.”
What would you do if a naked photograph of you went viral and you couldn't stop it, rumours went wild and everyone formed an opinion?
In Girls Like That, Scarlett becomes the center of attention in her close-knit school community, but for all the wrong reasons. As she remains silent we see her classmates talk about their reactions and experiences of Scarlett’s humiliation. Community, friendships and relationships come under strain in this play that asks us to think about the pressures on today’s digital generation and the impact our actions have on other people.
