‘…I think this might be the end of an era. Or maybe it’s the beginning of one…’ Iris is a quirky, intelligent and determined 10 year old whose goldfish dies, she believes, as a result of an air-raid siren. For Iris, the goldfish is what holds the world together, and she is shaken by her loss. When she comes across a man, Mr. Lawrence, on the beach, she is sure he is her goldfish reincarnated and convinces him to come back to her home in hopes that he will strengthen her family’s ever-dwindling relationship.
